Circa 1969 Zodiac Astrographic SST Automatic Mystery Dial watch.  This is a very special version of the Astrographic as it features the best movement available at the time, date is at 12:00, mystery dial seconds hand plate in good condition with the "little red dot" moving smoothly around the dial as the seconds tick away.  The minute and hours hand also move invisibly through the center part of the dial with only the "daggers" denoting the hour and minute floating freely just inside of the seconds red dot.

The Zodiac Astrographic SST is a top shelf watch by the honored Zodiac watch company renowned for many technical innovations in the 60's and 70's. The design corresponds perfectly with the high-grade and high-beat KXF 88D in-house movement (the AS1688 calibre with added rotor). The 36.000 high-beat system was called Split Second Timing (SST) which allowed the red dot to float smoothly like a sputnik.

Additional features included quick-set date by means of pushing the crown, hacking function and a precision hairspring regulating screw...not to mention a nice finish to plates and 17 or 21 jewels.
