Vintage Times is a reputable, long serving Australian based and owned retailer operating ONLINE from our BRICKS MORTAR shop located in the Sydney Antique Centre in Sydney Australia. We take great pride in having originated the Antique and Vintage Cufflink shop concept and proudly operate both of our shops 365 days a year displaying over 600 sets of cufflinks and hundreds of jewellery & watch items at any given time. We promise you that our quality and variety will continue to be unmatched and our service top notch.

SHIPPING - Domestic / International. Our number one priority is maximum safety and speed of delivery. Vintage Times will never charge packaging or handling charges nor will we skimp on packaging in order to cut our costs.  Delivery times will vary however we endevour to ship within 24 hours of receipt of confirmed funds.

SHIPPING PRICES: You pay a single fixed rate shipping charge. You receive free shipping for your second, third, etc. items when shipped in a single shipment and weighing less than 500g in total.

Domestic shipping: A$10. Items are delivered direct to you via AusPost Platinum Express Courier, (within Australia).

International shipping: A$52.00 Only the best! Vintage Times ships using AusPost Express International Courier which is the fastest and most secure shipping method available to you.

Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

Individuals may pay by Australian Bank cheque however items will not ship until funds have cleared. (approx. 10 days)

Vintage Times accepts no responsibility for any loss of, damage to, late delivery or non-delivery of goods ordered from our web site. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to release our carriers from any liability relating to loss of, damage to, late delivery or non-delivery of any goods you order from this web site and to assign all rights to claim compensation or insurance against our carriers to us and expressly and irrevocably do so.

Privacy Policy, Information Collection and Use  

Vintage Times, is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We respect your privacy and will never send you anything without your express consent. Should you offer your email address to us we will never give it or any of your details with any person or business. You may remove consent at any time by logging into your account.

Registration 

Register if you like! If you do you, and if you purchase from us and request contact from time to time, then we will inform you of any special member benefits or promotions. 

Security 

We respect your privacy and urge your caution in buying on line. As such, and until such time as we are comfortable with the “small time” ssl security systems available to most websites which require us to give unknown persons our credit card details, we will continue to use Paypal for credit card payments made online.

Paypal is THE most secure payment system online and it offers you Buyer Protection Insurance. Should you have a problem and have paid with Paypal then you can feel secure in the fact that a third party international payment system is there to back you up!

Valuations: Valuations have been provided to you as an added service at no additional cost. As a dealer it is not required and it is not standard practice in the industry. Vintage Times provides independent valuations to offer you unbiased information on the jewellery item that you are purchasing and for your use in future. We do not warrant the contents of the valuation however it has been compiled by a licenced professional outside of Vintage Times and using the accepted standards of the NSW licencing authority for Valuers. It is as close to a legal document as is available in the jewellery industry so please keep it safe. 

Antique and Vintage rings- expectations:  We want your expectations to be in line with what we sell.  We do not sell perfect jewellery.  We do not sell new jewellery.  All pieces have been used previously, all will have been worn previously, sometimes for decades.  As such, everything we stock will have wear. Known issues will be described where found and these will have already been factored into the price.

Wear will always be present on all items at Vintage Times and this condition must be expected.  The very large pictures on this website will do more to explain condition than any description will.  Age and wear in this context is not and must not be considered a fault in the product.  

Maintenance:

Reshanking:It is NORMAL that all antique rings will at some point require that the back of the ring (shank) be replaced as they naturally wear thin in this area, (palm of the hand). Many Antique and Vintage pieces will have already had this done at some point in the past. We do not generally have re-shanking completed prior to sale as it is naturally addressed during the normal course of re-sizing. Having this done separately would increase the price of the ring without substantially decreasing the cost of future re-sizing.

Inspection & a new chapter for your ring: We recommend that you to have your jewellery inspected by a jeweller (in the normal course of sizing where applicable) as he/ she may recommend that prongs be re-tipped, shanks be thickened due to natural wear or other suggestions in the interest of increasing the security of stones and settings. These recommendations should be expected when purchasing any pre-loved item. We recommend that you take the advice of any professional to ensure that your ring will be in tip top shape and ready to start a new chapter in its history.  

These security and stengthening updates are generally low cost relative to the cost of the jewellery item and should be expected and factored into your purchase price. We recommend that you to have your jewellery inspected and strengthened by a qualified jeweller (in the normal course of sizing where applicable) as we are not responsible for any damage or stone loss after purchase.  

Exchanges:  We understand that making an incorrect choice can sometimes occur, with gifts in particular. We want to do everything we can to make your purchase a pleasant experience, and so, Vintage Times is happy to offer all customers a 7-day exchange for all merchandise purchased when returned in its original condition. If you cannot make it into the shop or land the item back to us within that period of time just send us an email with your circumstances and we will do our best to accomodate your schedule.

Returns: In terms of return for refunds we ask that you consider and choose carefully. For security reasons we do not sell jewellery “on approval”.  Our policy for returns is as outlined by the NSW Department of Fair Trading. We do not offer refunds for change of mind or for making the wrong decision.  That said, we accept that there may be situations when the best course is to work with the customer to ensure a positive outcome and offer a refund.  If at our discretion Vintage Times does choose to accept a return for refund we will retain a 20% restocking fee from the original purchase price, regardless of the purchase price. minimum $100 fee- maximum $1000 fee.  The re-stocking fee will not be waived. 

Shipping fees paid are not refundable. Cost of return to warehouse is at buyers cost and risk.
