Aksel Holmsen signed Norway Antique cufflinks. Circa 1925 Immaculate condition. In beautiful Sea Blue, true French Enamel, (glassed, not pain). with Guilloche Sterling Silver base. Sterling Silver is then covered with a Gold Gilt to prevent silver tarnishing, (blackening), normal oxidation is then that of gold giving a rosey hue to the metal.
These Norway Enamel cufflinks are made in typical style of the "Norne" designs. (Norway) The Silver Bar connector is attached at either side to a swivel bar allowing one side to fold down for easy insertion into the cuff. Typical of the Scandinavian sensibility the centre post is curved to ensure the tilt of the cuff is outward when worn. This is a sure indicator that one of the higher profile Nordic designers like Aksel Holmsen, David Andersen or Georg Jensen, have had a hand in the design. In this case these are a signed Aksel Holmsen set of cufflinks.
Aksel Holmsen pieces are becoming more scarce to market and as such will continue to be sought after and treasured by collectors.
